1. Acceptance
By installing or using Syntropy Health ("the Software") or the services at health.syntropylabs.io (including the authorization relay), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
2. The Software
Syntropy Health is self-hosted software that lets you retrieve, organize and view your own health information, and information of people you are legally authorized to act for, from healthcare organizations and devices you connect. The source code is published under its repository license.
3. Not medical advice
The Software is an informational tool. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition and is not a medical device. Records may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate, and answers from an AI assistant can be wrong; always confirm with your care team and the original source. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
4. Your data and your responsibilities
The Software stores your health information on the device where you run it, and in any backups or exports you make. Syntropy Labs does not host it, has no access to it and cannot recover it. Because you control that device, you are responsible for:
- Connecting only accounts you own or are legally authorized to access.
- Securing the device, its operating system and network, the Software's password, and your backups and exported files, and keeping the Software up to date.
- Deciding who can reach the Software (for example, turning on access from other devices or exposing it beyond your home network) and who you share its password or exports with.
- Keeping backups. Data can be lost through device failure, deletion or a forgotten password, which cannot be reset by us.
- Complying with the terms of the healthcare organizations, device vendors and AI providers whose services you connect.
5. AI providers and connected apps
Using an AI assistant is optional. If you choose a provider outside your own network (with your own API key, or through an agent such as Claude Code, Codex CLI or Gemini CLI), your questions and the health information the assistant looks up to answer them are sent to that provider, under your account with it and its terms and privacy policy. The same applies to apps you connect over MCP. Syntropy Labs is not a party to those services and is not responsible for how they handle your information. A model running on your own hardware keeps that information on your network.
6. Relay services
The authorization relay is provided free of charge, as is, and may change or be discontinued. Do not misuse it, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for anything other than connecting your own Syntropy Health instance.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that third-party health data services will be available or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syntropy Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss or disclosure of data, arising from use of the Software or services, including data you choose to send to third-party services such as AI providers.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
